National Registry
Individuals who are not affiliated with an agency in which out-of-hospital skills are utilized, but who meet the education requirements may recertify as Inactive. The National Registry requires all individual applying for Active Status recertification to be affiliated with an agency and using their EMS skills at their provider level. Clinicians who request Inactive Status do not need to obtain skills verification. Inactive Status is not for those who are unable to obtain and meet the educational requirements.

The sentence that was in the HTML is: If your initial EMS Education Course was completed more than two (2) years ago and you never gained National Certification and/or a State EMS License at any level of EMR, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, you must complete a full initial EMS Education Program to be eligible for testing. That sentence describes someone who never gained National Certification or a state EMS license. It is not a re-entry procedure for a certification that lapsed.
